My name is Md Abdus Sami Akanda, a student from Bangladesh looking for an emergency visa (F-1) interview appointment. The reasons are stated as follows:

Fall 2023 Academic Session: I have been admitted to the Ph.D. in Physics Program with full funding at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the Fall 2023 semester. In order to attend the program and the graduate student orientation, I need to be at the university on August 1, 2023.

Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam, a prerequisite for the PhD program, is scheduled to be held on August 11 and August 14, 2023. The bridging program for graduate students will begin on August 1, 2023, and it will cover the topics of the preliminary exam. My studies there will be negatively impacted if I arrive later than expected because I will miss the bridging program and the preliminary exam.

Graduate Teaching Assistantship: My graduate teaching assistantship training/orientation starts on August 15, 2023. If my arrival gets delayed, the funding situation might be at risk which can put me and my career into a very difficult position.

Apartment Lease: In order to ensure that I have accommodation in Nebraska, it is important that I arrive early. Delayed arrival may result in a lack of available housing options, especially during that peak travel season for Fall 2023.

Unable to Use the Reschedule Option: I have secured an appointment date on October 10, 2023, which is significantly far from my program’s starting date of August 1, 2023. I tried to reschedule the earliest appointment date but it was not possible because of the unavailability of appointment dates before August.

Therefore, in these circumstances, the emergency appointment is the only opportunity for me to get a visa interview appointment.

I have attached relevant documents in the following section. If my request is granted, it will serve as the beginning of my dream of a prosperous future, and I would be very grateful for your consideration.
